Time to read some Holes! Part 2

After I have read the book til chapter 30, I read some more. I had read the book all the way til I had finished it and I think that this is an interesting type of book. So here is a somewhat summary of what I had read about this book!

After what we have left off with, we now know that Zero ran away with nothing. Stanley was very frustrated and very mad at everybody, especially himself. He was very angry at himself. The Warden, Mr. Sir and Mr. Pendanski was trying to erase Zero's files so that no-one would suspect that a boy had ran away. But the problem that they could not erase it, instead to hide it tight so that no-one could open it.

Because Zero ran away, a new kid was assigned to replace him. His name was Brian but was called Twitch because of the way he likes to twitch. He was sent to Camp Green Lake because he stole a car. He could steal a car in less than a minute. He never really plans to do it but when he sees a very good car, his hands started twitching and suddenly he would be just behind the wheels driving. The next morning Twitch was given instruction by Mr. Sir about the holes. Then the water truck came. Stanley was still worried of Zero. He stills worries if Zero was still alive or not. Because of that, Stanley sneaks to the back of the water truck and stole the car, driving away with no idea where to go.

As he drove, Stanley fell from the truck. From there, he kept walking, not knowing where to go. He looked back and saw that nobody was chasing him. He kept walking and walking founding food, lizards and creating mirages of his own. He then came across a boat. A boat that had be half dug into the ground. He thought it was nothing, but he just went there to see. On the boat was written a writing "Mary Lou." Then he could see a tunnel going underneath the boat. To see if there was something living in these tunnel, he gave a shout, "HI!" Then there was an answer, it was Zero!

Zero looked like a rotten Halloween Jack-o-lantern. His face was rotten. He asked if there was water and in reply Stanley said that it was empty. Stanley was surprised that Zero was still alive but that Zero doesn't want to go back to camp. He also came across something called "Sploosh," which is a drink that Zero had been drinking, which is apparently spiced peaces. He suddenly realize that Stanley was able to fit in the hole, which is hard to believe since he was a fat boy. Because of those hole digging, he was able to lose a lot of weight.

Zero gave Stanley some Sploosh. Stanley didn't drink too much. It was to good to resist.

Stanley and Zero thought that they would go to God's Thumb. They would try to find what was up that mountain. They would go there or they would go back to camp. They decided that they would go to God's Thumb. As they had their journey to God's Thumb, Zero would get his stomach hurt because of the Sploosh.  It slows them down to go to God's Thumb. To make the journey fun, Stanley would give letters so that Zero would answer the word that Stanley is trying to give.

As they kept walking and walking, they could not see the Thumb. They could only see the cliff and to go to the Thumb, they must go upwards the cliff. Stanley had some problems carrying Zero while he was acne from all the Sploosh. They kept climbing and climbing until they had reach the the Thumb. Zero kept waking and kept fainting through because of the Sploosh. Stanley realized that if they didn't find any water on the Thumb, they would die. As they kept, they come across the some weed and bugs. There are sign of water! They found it inside the mud there were water and also onions. Zero also said that he was the one who stole the shoes. Because of the onion of water limit, they were able to live for a few more days so they planned to go back to camp.

They walked and walked until they came across a hole. They felt as if there was a type of treasure. They dug with their hands and found treasure in one of the holes. As they were to get the treasure, the warden, Mr. Sir and Mr. Pendanski came to see what was going on. They saw the treasure and tried to force it from them. Suddenly a family of yellow spotted lizards came out. They all knew that Zero and Stanley would have die because of these. But as morning came, the lizards had no affect on them. It was because of the onions. The lizards hate the smell of onion. As morning came, the lawyer came to see.

Zero knows that the case belongs to Stanley because it has his name on it but he just hadn't told anyone. As Stanley and Zero was released from the lizards, the warden tried to take away the case and that Zero proved it to be wrong. The lawyer saw it and that she was able to free Stanley. Stanley asked if Zero could came and she asked to find Zero's file. It turns out there were no results but Zero was still able to be brought home.

When they opened they case, it was gold and treasure with a total of 1,000,000 dollars. They became wealthy people and that Zero found his mom too. Stanley's dad was also able to create a foot spray from peaces called Sploosh. Everyone became happy, even the other boys were released.

Time to Read Some Holes!

So about a month or two, Ibu Meghan asked us to read a book called Holes and it was by Louis Sachar. This book also had a film around 2001 and it is also called Holes. This book is all about a guy named Stanley Yelnats who went to a camp because he did something wrong and that in this book he tells you everything he did.

So it all started out as a boy named Stanley Yelnats was on a bus by himself and he is going to a camp called Camp Green Lake but there is no more lake in there. There were once around 110 years ago. This camp is for naughty boys. This camp makes the bad boys to dig ten to hundreds of holes in the hot sun because it makes them to good boys. He had no choice but to go there because he was given two choices by the judge to either go to jail or to this camp.

He was sent to court because he did something wrong. He stole a pair of shoes from Clyde Livingston. He thinks that he didn’t do it because it had been thrown and that he said that he was innocent. He thinks it is because of his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great-great grandfather. It is a family joke where everything that went wrong to his family was because of his great-great grandfather’s curse. It was because long ago he stole a pig from a one legged Gipsy named Madame Zeroni. It was because he wanted to marry a lady.

Stanley arrived in the camp. He then was assigned to his group tent which is Group D. He met his counselor, Mr Pendanski. He was a nice looking guy. He told him that there is Mr. Sir who is the guard and the Warden. The only rule is; don’t upset the Warden. Then Mr. Pendanski showed Stanley his group friends. There were a total of 6 boys, Alan, Rex, Jose, Theodore, Ricky and Zero. They all had nicknames which are Squid, X-Ray, Magnet, Armpit and Zigzag. Zero’s nickname is Zero because everyone didn’t really know his real name but was later revealed to be a relative of Madame Zeroni. Stanley was also later given his own nickname, Caveman.

So Stanley was told that he must dig a 5 feet tall and 5 feet wide hole each day and that if he finishes he gets the day off. It was his first day at the job; he thought that it was the hardest thing to do because it was his first hole. Everyone else says that the first hole is the hardest but not as hard as the second one. What make things harder are the dry land and the hotness of the sun.

Green Lake wasn’t always a hot place. 110 years ago there were people living on the sides of the river. There was a girl named Katherine who lived in the Town of Green Lake. She was famous for her spiced peaches. She could make the most delicious peaches and that also she was a beautiful lady and every man was interested in her. She was also a teacher in a school in the town. There was a man in his school, Trout Walker, whom is the richest man in the town all because of his father. He only wanted to go to this school so that he could meet Katherine. He always asks her if she wants to date her but she didn’t want to.

Also in that town lived a Negro man, Sam. He is an onion seller and that he has a donkey/mule, Mary Lou. One day Katherine met Sam and that he knew he could help her with fixing the school because the school was badly damaged including the roof and doors. He agreed of helping and that he will get her famous spiced peaches. Each day of working, Katherine and Sam became in love with each other. They both would talk to each other and had a good time. Until Sam couldn’t fix anything else and that they could not talk again. After days of not meeting him, Katherine went to see Sam. They were both glad because they could see each other again. It was raining too. Suddenly Sam kissed Katherine in the rain because they thought no-one would see them but someone did. Quickly rumors spread about this and that everyone in the town knew.

On a school day no-one came to the school possibly because of the kissing incident. Then suddenly, Trout Walker came in the school with many others. They wrecked her school and wreck her clothes. Trout Walker called her the Devil Woman because of the incident. Long ago it was forbidden for a Negro to kiss a white girl. So Kat ran outside to find Sam and told him that they are going to kill him so they went on the boat to the lake. Mary Lou was shot dead by them and that Sam was also shot on the boat. Katherine then was saved by her wishes because the Negro was the bad one. So after that she had vengeance on everyone and became Kissin Kate Barlow, the most feared lady.

That was 110 years ago.

Now to the present time.

So Stanley made a deal with Zero that Zero would do some of his work and that Stanley will teach him how to read. It was all going good for the past days until the other boys starts teasing and complained about Zero doing Stanley’s hole. Suddenly things started to get nasty when Zigzag went to Stanley and said that he will give him a cookie if he does his hole. It was meant to be a joke but because Stanley kept denying, Zigzag beat Stanley but suddenly Zero chocked Zigzag from the back. Then Mr. Pendanski and Mr. Sir saw what happened including the Warden.  They break up the fight. Mr. Pendanski teased Zero of that Zero is stupid. Because he was so mad, Zero swung Mr. Pendanski with a shovel. Because of that Zero was in big trouble. He can’t drink any water and that the Warden said to put hidden cameras everywhere. Also that there still needs to dug 7 holes said the Warden although Zero was away.

That is all the info I read till chapter 30. I hope to read more.

My 2 Most Wanted Things

After you read my title, I know that your confused on what I meant. The title meant that all the things that I have been dying to have but really hard to get. I really want some things that is really hard to get but some that I have already achieved to get.

On of the things that I really want to have and the most in the world (other than Emma Watson becoming my girlfriend) is that I really want to have a gaming laptop. Its not that I hate my current laptop but the storage is really low so I can't really apply games on it and put files too. I am hoping and praying to get a new laptop for my next birthday.

I really want to get a laptop called MSI, which is a gaming laptop that has so many storages and I think that it doesn't lag at all. It can help me with working on projects and also if I'm bored, I can play games on it. Although I really want it, it's kind of expensive. It costs around 10 million rupiah and it would be a mircale to get it. 

Another thing that I really want is a full lesson of electric guitar. I really want to learn playing electric guitar. I can improve more and become one of the greatest guitar player (like that would happen). Although I can't really have lessons but currently I am playing an electric song that I have been learing independently. 

So these are my two most favorite things in the world! (After making Emma Watson my girlfriend). Although these are really REALLY hard to get, I will be patient and keep praying until that special day comes when I get these 2 things that I am really wanting to have.

Bintang Garuda Soccer Skill

Recently I just joined a soccer team called Bintang Garuda Soccer Skill or BGSS in short. I just joined it around 3 or 4 weeks ago. I was invited by Eghan. He thinks that I should join BGSS. I agreed because I think that I would really like to improve my soccer skill and I would really try to experience a new way of playing soccer. Usually I play soccer without skill or anything in particular, so I join in. Eghan hasn’t only inviting me to join; he also invited Rady and Ori. They would also really like to join BGSS. We were really excited.

The first day came when we first joined BGSS. We thought it would be really great, until we came to the field. There were so many new people that we didn’t know and that we were scared of being bullied. Eghan said that it would be ok, so we trust him. Our first session started. We saw so many new faces and we were really scared. The training wasn’t really hard at first but it turned out to be more challenging by the second. We were really nervous.

We thought that we were really bad but it turns out we weren’t! We were able to catch up with others. The first day wasn’t really bad, we met new people and it turns out they were really nice.

Weeks have past; we’ve met new friends in BGSS, both younger than us and older than us. They are all very talented people. They can play soccer very well. They are all also funny people. They know how to make people laugh. The coaches were all very nice. There is coach Rasyid. He is very talented. He is very good at skill. His feet are very flexible and can move and play soccer with ease.

I am really proud of joining BGSS. I wouldn’t regret it even a second. I was chosen to be number 15 in BGSS and I am very proud that now I am officially part of BGSS.

These are my 18 Facts that you may not know about me! Maybe you know some facts about me but I promise you, there are some that you may not know. Let's get deep shall we.

18 Facts:

1. I am very lazy at home and I really hate moving around to places that are near me, so I like to call my maid for help.

2. I am really a deep sleeper because I can sleep for a long time and that when someone wakes me up it can take ages!

3. From my previous posts, I post about guitar. I said that I started playing guitar at the year 3 but I stopped playing guitar at year 4 and continue at year 5 so technically I played guitar for 3 years now.

4. I don’t really hate any type of food because I can eat anything and still enjoy it.

5.  I really like to draw superheroes when I am bored at home and I don’t know what to do.

6. I can play around 30 songs on the guitar and I can play 7 songs that include melody playing in the song.

7. I am 17 years younger than my oldest brother and I have 2 brothers and 1 sister.

8. I really love Emma Watson and Ariana Grande.

9. I don’t swim really fast.

10. I used to be really fat when I was young but suddenly I turned skinny and I don’t know why.

11. My favorite movie of all time is Now you see me because it is really awesome with the magic that they did and my favorite character is Daniel Atlas.

12. My favorite actor is Morgan Freeman because it is funny how he talks.

13. I really hate who pick on certain people and act tough.

14. I really hate wearing Crocs for because of the model it.

15. Sundays I don’t really do anything. I just like to rest on my bed and just relax and play with my laptop.

17. I also like to read unexplained mysteries because it is really interesting.

18.  For my last fact, I like to end it with a surprise. Some people say that I am narcissistic and I think I am one too I guess.

Library Time!

Friday was library time, where we can just sit down in the library and read books quietly with others. Myself I enjoy library time because I can read fiction and really enjoy the imagination that the authors had put in these books. Non-fiction can give us more knowledge that maybe aren't in the internet.

During this week, we went to the library and read books. I read a books about the KKK. KKK also known as the Ku Klux Klan. They are a type of klan that played a violent role againts African Americans. The KKK hide their faces with robes and mask to be unrecognizeable to other people. They would kill African Americans like hung their heads and supposebly rape them too. 

When I read this book I think it was really detailed and interesting because it gives the people who reads the book more knowledge on the KKK and if people already know what the KKK is, the book can add more knowledge. The book is really thick. Its really detailed and that it has so many writings on each page. I only read most of it but I didn't finish it because it has so many writings! There are also so many pictures that are connected to the content of the book. 

I think that reading these kind of books can really help you to add more knowledge and study too. I think that reading can be fun, but to be honest, I'm not really much of a reader but I can see why people enjoy it. It was a great library time!

KFC

KFC, in my opinion the best food in the world! KFC is very delicious because it gives you that certain taste. I myself love KFC because it has crispy skin and very delicious meat too. It is also kind of spicy. Not only that the chicken itself is delicious but the other foods are delicious too. The fries are very good and also the burgers. The sauce is perfect there, both chili and tomato sauce. Also the ice cream is very tasty especially the vanilla one.

Some foods in KFC I don’t really like it. Cream soup is one of them. Although people say it is very good, I don’t really like it, I don’t know why. I guess because there is a certain taste that makes it less good for me. I also don’t like the other type of fried chicken, the Original one. It’s just that the skin isn’t very crispy and that it isn’t spicy at all! Not even a little! Other than that I don’t have any more food to explain.

KFC is very delicious but it is not healthy. I only eat KFC around 2 times a week. But not only that but each time I eat KFC I eat around 3 to 4 chickens so that means I really eat so many chickens. My parents say I cannot eat more than that but sometimes I like to eat more than I should secretly. I know it is bad but I can’t help it. It’s just too delicious. Sorry mom and dad.

I know some people who really love KFC like me. I know that Albern really loves it! He can eat KFC like any time, which I think is not that healthy, but really strong at eating many KFC. Also Eghan really loves KFC too. He could eat very much like Albern.

Based on my taste and opinion KFC is very delicious and everybody should try it but I suggest eating less, not like me who eats 2 times a week.

My Soccer Life

Soccer, a worldwide sport where everybody can play it. It has become the most famous sport in the world. Soccer is a sport where you kick the ball around for fun and try to shoot it to the goal. You play it with 11 people in each side, including the keeper who is the one who tries to keep the ball from going in the goal. Now soccer has become a job to many people and people who works in soccer can get very rich. Soccer has sponsors like Nike, Adidas and more. It has also brand sponsors like Samsung and Volkswagen. 

Me myself, I am a very huge soccer fan. I really enjoy playing it with others and my chosen position is a defender. I've been enjoying playing soccer since I was 6. I was completely bad at it and didn't know anything. My first ever favorite club was Manchester United, which were pretty good in those days but now they are really bad, sorry for those MU fans but that's my opinion. 

After I stopped liking Manchester United, I changed sides and I like FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona is my favorite club til now. It has many talented players like Xavi, Iniesta, Neymar, Suarez and Messi. I also like them because of their style of play which is called tiki-taka. I've also like them because they had so many good players in the past like Pep Guardiola and Ronaldo. Now they have a very talented player, Lionel Messi which is very good at soccer. That is why I like FC Barcelona.

During the World Cup, I was really excited. I chose Spain as my first chosen country but sadly, they played really bad and that they were the first team to be eliminated in the World Cup. After that I chose Argentina because it has Messi and other talented players. I was really proud of them because they were able to win the many matches until they were in the finals. In the finals, Argentina have to face of Germany. Sadly they lost by a tight score of 1-0 but I think that they did very well in this World Cup.

At school, I really  like playing with others. I had joined the JSFL (Jakarta School Football League) for 4 times and maybe I will join it again this year. When I play, I like to play with my favorite soccer shoes, Adidas F50 because it is special for speed. Now I am about to buy a different shoe called Magista, a new shoe that just came this month. Also I joined a soccer club outside school called Bintang Garuda, where you train on skill. I was introduced to it by Eghan. 

Now I am still focusing on improving my skill on soccer and hoping to be really good at it.

My Guitar Experience

I started playing guitar in Year 3. I was inspired by my brother because he is really good at it and i want to be as good as him, or maybe better! At first I didn't know anything about playing guitar until I was bought a beginner's guitar book. I learned and mastered all of the major and minor chords. I wasn't really fast at changing chords until I got used to playing the guitar and I was able to do it. Then I realized that guitar isn't only about chords, but also about picking. So I started learning classical guitar in Year 4 or 5. 

I went pretty far with it but I stopped because I don't want to play classical but electric because i enjoy electric more. In year 5 I was chosen to be the lead guitarist during the class band concert at school. That time I started to enjoy electric and I had to play Some Nights by Fun. After that school concert, I became more focused on electric so I stopped my classical guitar lesson. 

I looked up videos of electric guitar lessons and how to play it. Luckily I went pretty far with it and I was able to afford an electric guitar for my 12th Birthday. I was in year 6 at that time. In year 6 I was chosen to be the lead guitar to play for the Exhibition song. I was really proud. The song wasn't really challenging and I was able to do it. 

The real challenge begins when I was chosen again during the Art Fest. We were going to be playing Sweet Child' o Mine, which is a song that has picking in it. It was my first ever song that had melodic play in it. I was really pumped to do it. At first I can't do anything, but I kept practicing and practicing and I able to do it, although not the full song. During the Art Fest I was really nervous but at the end I was able to do it. 

After I played Sweet Child' o Mine, I learned more melodic songs, electric and acoustic. Now I am able to play more that 27 songs, picking and strumming. One of my proudest ones are Sempurna, an Indonesian song and now I am in the middle of learing Canon Rock, a reall challenging song to play.

What I really like about playing my guitar is that I can play it any time. When I am stressful, playing the guitar will release it. I can also play with my friends and enjoy it and play songs with other instruments like the drum and the bass. What I really like the most is that I attract people with my guitar skills. It is really fun to play the guitar!
