Isu Pendidikan Bangsa Kita

Blog ini merupakan untuk menjelaskan salah satu isu pendidikan dari  Undang-Undang Dasar tahun 1945. Saya akan berperan sebagai seorang anak dari Timur yang berprotes mengenai masalah ini yang belum dipecahkan sejak lama. Karena itu, di beberapa bagian dari blog ini akan terdapat bagian dimana saya akan berbicara dengan nada dan juga menggunakan diksi yang biasanya digunakan oleh anak-anak Timur sana. Saya bertujuan untuk menjelaskan apa sebenarnya masalah dari pendidikan tanah air kita ini dan juga memberi suatu protes dalam peran anak Timur mengenai masalah pendidikan ini. Audien yang saya tujuan utamanya adalah pemerintah negara kita sendiri karena pemerintah apalagi Anies Baswedan bertanggung jawab mengenai isu ini dan sanggup untuk membuat perubahaan karena dia berwewenang mengenai pendidikan nasional. Bukan hanya pemerintah, audien lainnya yang saya tujukan adalah para warga dan rakyat Indonesia lain untuk menyadari masalah ini dengan cara menggunakan peran lain dan karena itu terdapat nada yang unik yang harus digunakan untuk membahas masalah ini. Blog ini akan menggunakan nada yang biasa digunakan anak-anak Timur untuk berbicara. Namun diksi yang digunakan di dalam blog tersebut akan tetap dalam format yang baik dan menggunakan kata-kata yang baku namun akan terdapat kata-kata atau kalimat yang menggunakan bahasa seperti anak Timur karena di blog tersebut saya pun berperan sebagai anak Timur.

Apa kabar kalian para anak kota? Untuk para pembaca blog yang baru atau para pembaca blog lama yang lupa nama beta Ari. Ari sekarang menduduk di kelas 1 SMP. Pasti para anak kota bertanya kepada beta mengapa beta dapat membuat blog seperti anak-anak kota Jakarta di sana. Sebagai anak kota, kalian seharusnya tidak boleh meremehkan anak-anak Timor sini. Back to the point nih para pembaca, beta ingin curhat mengenai keadaan anak-anak rakyat kami. Beta sebagai anak Timor, seharusnya bangga karena beta masih dapat kesempatan untuk mendapat pendidikan dari negeri ini, namun masih terlihat  anak-anak diluar sana yang masih terpaksa bekerja untuk memenuhi kebutuhan keluarga mereka. Hal-hal ini pun membuat banyak anak tanah air kita kesusahan mendapat pendidikan yang bagus. Di Undang Undang Dasar dikatakan bahwa semua anak rakyat layak mendapat pendidikan. Beta bertanya mengenai isu ini. Mengapakah pemerintah belum mengurus masalah ini sejak dulu? Beta pun bingung, mengapakah belum terdapat solusi dan mengapakah pemerintah belum bertindak mengenai isu ini. Tesis mengenai ini adalah bahwa perhatian pemerintah mengenai masalah ini memang minim dan juga. 

Sistem pendidikan di Indonesia ini memang kurang bagus karena terdapat beberapa bagian di negara kita yang mendapat pendidikan yang sangat bagus tetapi terdapat juga dimana tidak terdapat pendidikan sama sekali.  Jika sistem pendidikan kita tetap begini dan pemerintah pun tidak melakukan apa-apa maka masa depan Indonesia pun kacau. Korupsi dan masalah bisnis pun lainnya akan terjadi karena kurang pendidikan tersebut. Itu pun juga akan mengakibatkan banyak anak-anak bangsa tidak dapat memenuhi keinginan/cita-cita mereka. Hal-hal kecil yang mengakibatkan masalah ini adalah kekurangan profesionalisme guru, mahalnya sekolah dan juga kurangnya perhatian oleh pemerintah pendidikan. Namun masalah utama dari pembicaraan ini merupakan bahwa pemerintah pendidik yang seharusnya berurusan dengan masalah ini, mempunyai perhatian yang minim terhadap isu ini. Akibatnya masalah ini terus beredar. 

Dikatakan di Undang-Undang Dasar pasal 31 bahwa “Setiap warga negara berhak mendapat pendidikan. Setiap warga negara wajib mengikuti pendidikan dasar dan pemerintah wajib membiayainya.” Dengan jelas ditegaskan bahwa setiap warga negara wajib mendapat pendidikan dasar dan pemerintah pun yang wajib membayarnya. Namun masalah ini pun belum perbaiki. Warga negara pun harus mendapat kewajiban pendidikan 9 tahun namun masih terlihat beberapa area atau bagian negara yang belum memenuhi itu. Beta sebagai anak Timor tidak salah untuk membuat solusi mengenai isu ini. 

Terlihat memang bahwa menteri pendidikan Anies Baswedan menyadari bahwa memang masih bermasalah bahwa pendidikan Indonesia masih kurang bagus. Salah satu solusi merupakan solusi sistematik dimana seharusnya pemerintah mengganti sistem pendidikan dan sosialisasi yang akan lebih membantu warga. Juga bisa solusi teknis yakni dimana pemerintah memperbaiki seperti masalah kualitas guru dan prestasi anak-anak untuk terus belajar. Solusi lain dari masalah ini adalah hal-hal kecil yang bisa dilakukan warga yang mempunyai pendidikan, seharusnya dapat mengunjuk atau membuat sebuah sekolah kecil dimana mereka bisa diajarkan. Tanpa sadar, hal kecil seperti ini pun dapat membuat dampak terhadap seluruh Indonesia jika banyak yang ikut serta  dan mungkin akan menyadarkan terhadap pemerintah untuk lebih berperhatian terhadap masalah ini.

Beta membujuk para pembaca untuk membuat perbedaan demi masa depan bangsa dan juga masa depan anak-anak kita. Pemerintah memang masih memiliki perhatian minim terhadap isu ini, namun bukan berarti kita harus berhenti mencoba. Profesionalisme guru dan lain-lain adalah alasan mengapa pendidikan Indonesia kurang stabil, namun hal-hal kecil seperti memberi pendidikan gratis terhadap anak-anak pun akan membuat perbedaan. Membagikan pendapat kalian ini puna akan menyadarkan banyak orang. Pendidikan rakyat Indonesia memang masih dalam masalah, namun jika kita semua mencoba maka kita akan membuat perubahaan, bagi bangsa dan bagi anak-anak! Creative Writing Unit

As soldiers aligned in front of the gigantic castle, the commander gave a loud welcome to them. Hyperion whom is a new member of the army stood up in confidence under the hot burning sun. From his friend’s and family’s perspective Hyperion is a kind hearted man who loves to help people and he is a very fit and muscular man, perfect to work as a militant. Wearing the special black and blue outfit gave him a sense of pride and honor. Being in the army has always been his dream. 

Zor-El, whom is the King of Avres is a prideful and generous King, had just arrived in front of them, giving them a good encouraging speech to motivate them towards completing their duties. The king looked closely into each and every new member of the army. As he saw Hyperion, the King was pleased of what he was looking at, hoping he would be a brave soldier one day. The commander even gave the king a special performance of how strong and how worthy each new member is. The king saw each member of the army and his face wasn't too pleased, until he saw Hyperion. Hyperion was able to present himself the best, demonstrating different skills. He was able to lift more and he was faster than anyone else giving the King a pleased look. He will surely keep an eye on him.

As the King came into his gigantic castle, he saw Zar-El who is the King’s younger brother who had helped him through difficult times in the past and helped him become King. He had an unusual look while holding the King’s warm tea. The King didn’t know what was going on so he decided to just receive the tea hoping it was a gift of some sort to welcome him back after giving a good speech. Suddenly as he took a sip of the drink, he felt dizzy and a slight of nausea, causing him to be in a deep sleep. As he was fainting to the ground, Zar-El proudly said,

 “I have been by your side for a long time and you or no other man has ever give me credit for all I’ve been through to make you King, now I shall rule Avres without you in my way!” 

There was a servant who saw this tragedy and soon he realized that there was much more to this. This servant was very trustworthy to the King so he had no intention to help Zar-El. Zar-El soon created false information on what happened to the King. He announced to everyone that the King was found dead on his bed. A man asked if there was going to be a funeral but Zar-El denied and said that the funeral was forbidden and no man can come. The people were frustrated and they were all very sad hearing this news, some even cried. The almighty priest soon crowned Zar-El as the new King of Avres and everyone had no choice but to accept that Zar-El was the new King that ruled this magnificent land.

Less than 2 months and this wonderful country became a dreadful and awful land. No man was free and everything they do had laws. The money being earned by the people for their jobs were no more than a price for a slice of bread. Their food, drinks and activities had limits. They were living in a dictating land, no more democracy. The King insisted that the land should be peaceful and quiet and if a single man denies his laws then he shall be executed. Everyone was scared, and everyone was hoping that there is going to be a miracle that is going to save everyone and stop this monstrous king from ruling. 

The servant quietly escaped from the castle and no other servant or even the king knew that he left. The servant hated for what the new King had done to the land and was hoping to stop him, but he wasn't going to do it alone. He remembered seeing Hyperion who the King admired looking at and knew that he will definitely help him to stop the King. He rushed as fast as a cheetah to find Hyperion in the military base. He went to each camp boot finding his name and as soon as he found him, Hyperion wasn't as glad as the last time he saw him and as soon as he came he asked why. At first Hyperion didn't know who this man is and didn't know what was he intending to do. As the servant explained on what happened Hyperion soon felt that he must help him on his journey to stop Zar-El on ruling this country and turning it into a complete disaster. 

The servant knew every single room and every single corner of the castle. He also saw where Zar-El kept the king. He was in the tallest tower of the castle located at the far end of the castle’s huge beautiful garden. Knowing that guards will block their way in, they knew they needed a plan. The servant realizes that another problem had occurred. The king is not a stupid man, he might knew that he is missing from the castle and he might find someone to stop them. The servant knew that he couldn't stay long out of the castle and must come back so the king wouldn't be suspicious of what he is intending to do. The servant told him the plan and it will start that midnight.

As he soon arrives to the castle, nothing went wrong at first. No one looked at him in suspicious as he came in the castle. His face was very worried. He knew that something wrong was about to happen but as nothing went wrong. Suddenly as he was heading towards his room he saw Zar-El standing with 2 guards beside him. 

“I know what you are trying to do, one of my guards followed you and heard what you said and to who you said it.”

This made the servant desperate for help.

“What are you going to do to me?”

“I will make you sleep and never wake up anymore.”

At that moment forward, the servant was killed by the hands of Zar-El and his body was thrown away and never to be seen. Hyperion was soon worried because he knew that it was midnight precisely and that he knew that something is wrong. He remembered where the place was. He braves himself and decided to take on the mission without him. He went through the secret tunnel under the garden where it leads up precisely in front of the garden tower where he saw 4 guards standing stiff and tall being ready for anything. 

He did not know how to distract them but he knew that he is a very intelligent person so he has to find out a way. He saw an antique car that looks very old but very rare. He took some spare parts out to construct something that would make sound. He succeeded and all the guards ran towards him, he then hid and went into the tunnel again. Knowing it was safe, Hyperion went inside and up to the tower. He saw the king laying down, awake but doing nothing. The King was pleased as he saw Hyperion saving his life and Hyperion soon ran outside of the tower and out of the way of the guards. Getting the king back to rule the kingdom would be impossible, they don’t know a single way to turn things around here. But the story doesn’t end here. No, its far from over because its only the beginning. 

A Family Celebration I'll never forget!

Every celebration that you have ever attended should never be forgotten. It is a way that brings you closer with your family, seeing that you've seen your friends more each day than your family (if your a student). Either it’s a ce`alebration like Christmas or Ramadhan or un-religious celebration like Birthday parties, always remember them because they are a significant part of your past. My favorite celebration is of course, Christmas. It might seem crazy, knowing that I’m Muslim but Christmas just brings a lot of joy because its so special to my own family and we become more close. Each year, Christmas is different but my favorite year was last year. It brought a lot of positive things to our lives and it made us forget about all the sins we had, it even makes us closer to God himself! I have my reasons of why last year was such a blast.

Let’s start with a more religious reason, getting closer to God. I don’t mean literally but it means that we remember God for what he has done to use and thank him for all the good things that came into our lives. Now you might be thinking that last year while my Christian side of my family was praying and singing to praise and thank God, I just stood there doing nothing. Well its true, but while they prayed, I prayed too. I prayed to my own belief and also thanking him. Just seeing my whole family praying and singing together in joy, I felt a warmth in my heart filling up with joy and happiness because seeing my whole family together is wonderful! Then we had a east together in my grandparent’s huge house. I smelled the huge meat ready to be served. I could see that everyone in exhausted after singing and they were all definitely hungry. They headed together and we started eating. I met my new cousins I never met and yeah of them were very interesting people. We gathered together and played games and just had a blast! It was a great moment to share with those people. 

Another reason why last year was a celebration to remember was that I had met my cousins that I had not seen in a very long time, precisely 5 years. At first I wasn't really looking forward to seeing them. It was because the last time we met I int really understand what they were talking about and I wasn't really involved because I was still 8 years old and I was the youngest. When they saw me, they didn't know who I was because I looked very different. The looks on there faces were of surprise, like seeing a dinosaur come to life. They were different from me the last time we met. We did so many activities together like playing hide and seek and watching horror movies together. We played hide and seek around the house, laughing and having so much fun together. It made me very happy because it was the first time I became really close with them. Watching horror movies was another thing. Instead of happiness of joy, the looks on their faces were so hilarious. Their eyes were wide open but yet so scared, even one of my cousins cried! It was the greatest time that I spent with my cousins.

The last reason why it was so fun was because I got to actually see my whole family. We gathered in my grandparent’s house was actually pretty big and we all gathered there. There were really a lot of people, just the German Army. I could meet people I’d never met but actually my uncles and aunts and I saw my far cousins that I didn't know I had. People were just everywhere, talking and having a great time together. Outside of our house there is a huge field, empty but green. We did some family bonding activities together like tug of war and even mud fights! It was the best moment I have ever had with my family. The feeling of sweat and mud on our bodies didn't really mean anything if you are having such a good time together. Then we had a large feast together  served with Chicken Soup, Satay and  roasted pork. I am Muslim so I didn't eat any. The smell of pork was so good, I wish I could eat it. It was really a good activity to have together.

Each of these reasons were a significant event that happened last Christmas. They hold a special memory that is kept dearly  in my heart. The activities I did with my cousins and family like bonding actives and hide and seek were such a blast. We didn't really need money to make us happy but being together and spending time wit yout family is better than having anything in this world having a family is just priceless. “Money can’t buy happiness.” -Bob Marley-

Debates!

Throughout this term which is term 3, I have learnt various knowledge that I got about the topic Debate. Not only did I learnt about debate, I have also learnt about persuasive speaking (Ethos/Pathos/Logos) the origin of debate (Aristotle) and doing debates in general. Before I started the debate, I had to learn about the origin of debate and also the correct way of speaking it. Aristotle was the one who originated the idea of debate. He created 3 concepts for debating which are Ethos Pathos and Logos and they are used to persuade people.

Ethos is a moral and ethical persuasion, like knowledge and fairness. Logos is a logical persuasion, making people thing logically and Pathos is an emotional persuasion trying to make people think the same way. We also learnt on how to speak during the debate and what you need to do like what does the first speaker do and what does the rebuttal need to do. We also learnt about PEEL. PEEL stands for Point Evidence Explanation and Link. Those are the things that are needed when you present your statement.

We started to do 2 different debates, which are an informal debate and a formal debate. My first informal debate topic was Apple is better than Samsung. My group members were Albern, Aca and Jason. We agree that Apple than Samsung because of various reasons such as product designs and its system. For this group I think that we were well organized because we were able to divide our topic that we are trying to talk. Although we were well organized, I don’t really thing that my info was structured correctly because I didn’t really know what to put in my PEEL. On my first debate, I think that the information needed wasn’t enough to support my point. I think that we did great as an overall but I could improve personally. I would grade my first team a 20/21 and I think that we won the debate.

Second, it was the real debate, the formal debate.  Our topic was “Should the world have 1 currency?” This is a challenging because my group and I had to research about financial issues that has been happening in the world. My group consists of Jason, Radi and Nadya and we disagree that the world would have 1 currency. We started good; we were able to divide the jobs in a day. We all have things sorted but the real challenge started because we all have to research about financial problems throughout the world but mainly the Euro. I was way more effective when finding evidence than the last time and I was able to structure the PEEL correctly and with no rush. I felt confident more than the last time. Personally, I think that I did way better than the last time and during my turn to speak, I was way more confident with my words and I was able to speak clearly and make my point. I think that we did a fabulous job and I would give my group a 21/21 because we had very strong points to support us and that I think that we definitely won the debate.

During this term, I think that I did a great job with debates because I was able to understand the concepts of debate and show my understanding throughout debates, both formal and informal.

Police Report

As we arrived at the house of Arthur and Queenie Volupides at about 2:00 AM on January 1st, 2012. We found Arthur Volupides lying on the floor with his head at the bottom of the stairs. His wife Queenie claims that he came down for another drink and she also claims that he fell down the stairs. The evidence that we collected goes to the obvious answers. The evidence that we collected support our answers.

Looking in the background you could see a pan with food on it cooking. Going back to what Queenie said: she invited her friends from the Country Club for another drink, not snack or something related to that. As a rule people don’t normally cook at 1:00 AM in the morning. Secondly by looking at what Queenie said and Arthurs body position it doesn’t seem like Queenie is telling the truth. One of the evidences is that by looking at his body position we could tell that he was walking up the stairs. If you look closely we could see that his right foot was on the 3rd step and his left foot on the 2nd step. This also indicates that he was walking up the stairs. As a rule when you’re lying on your back you would probably be walking up the stairs. Thirdly if you look closely at Arthur's hand he is still holding his glass. As a rule whenever people fall they let go of any items in their hands. As Queenie said Arthur was coming down not going up.

We could see that nothing on the wall beside the stairs or on the stairs was disturbed/misplaced.Which makes it unlikely that he fell from the stairs. Also Arthur is still holding a glass in his hands. Which Queenie told us that he was coming down for another drink. As a rule when people fall they drop whatever they’re holding and try to grab other things to prevent them from hurting themselves and falling. If he protected himself he would’ve injured other body parts that helped him from preventing to fall. Which is strange because the autopsy stated that he only had a wound on the back of his head.

Using the evidences that we found on the scene including the use of general rules about what is wrong about these evidences, we can conclude that Queenie wasn’t telling the truth. We have supporting evidences from the scene, like Arthur’s body position and and also the objects around him. It doesn’t match what would happen normally. To finish this conclusion, we would like to say that Queenie killed Arthur, in a smart way. She used the frying pan that she used for cooking to hit Arthur in the back, that is why he has only has a bruise on the back of his head. Then he used the pan for cooking as a cover so it doesn’t look as if she hit Arthur. Also that she put a glass on his hand to look as if he is going for a refill. That is what we think happened based on the evidences that we found on the crime scene.

My Holiday Experience

Holiday was fantastic, I guess. I didn’t really do much but it was pretty fun. I get to meet my cousins that I haven’t met in 3 years! Last time I met with my cousins I was as fat as a marshmallow.  When I met them again they didn’t even recognized me! It was really fun meeting them again. We played every day. Also during the holiday, I visited my nephew because he suddenly was very ill. My family was all worried and visited him.

It was on the 9^th of January, my nephew suddenly felt ill. From what I heard, he had a sickness because of the food he ate. So on the next day, me and my mother wanted to visit him. Because he really loves Ben 10, my mother bought toys and clothes for him.

When I went inside his room in the hospital, he was on bed just laying with my sister in law (my brother’s wife). We gave him the presents that we bought and he was very happy. I played with him with the toys and we had a great time. We also ordered some sushi because he really loves sushi. At the end, my mother and I had to say goodbye to him because we had to go home. It was one of my favorite moments because I get to see my nephew and play with him again.
